I don’t know about your family but we are trying to reduce the amount of screen time the kids have since we saw some not so great behavior when they were watching a lot of shows (PJ Masks=thinking he was a ninja). So we are pulling back out our games and I wanted to tell you about the Peaceable Kingdom Cooperative Games. When we first received one of these games I wasn’t sure about a “cooperative game” because let’s be honest I’m super competitive and thought hey I don’t want to be teaching the whole everyone gets trophy mentality. Once we opened it and started playing I realized they are not like that at all.
Basically everyone playing is working together to “beat” the game. So you definitely have that we won or we lost feeling, but you are all working together to accomplish that goal. It has been great to see my competitive daughter share her cards and think strategically to help beat the game. I would say that The Fairy Game and Mermaid Island are definitely geared more towards that 5+ because there is a good amount of strategy and rules to remember. We are working little man into playing more of these games with us but at 3.5 his attention span is still a little short and he likes to then just play with the pieces.. oh well!
