Nordstrom Anniversary sale is live to shop online if you are an Icon or Ambassador cardholder. I intended for this entire post to be ready earlier but you know what this little blogger is a team of 1, with a cold and 2 small kids so it didn’t happen. At this point I am hoping that the Nordstrom website doesn’t crash and most of you can get the items you want. Keep in mind Nordstrom has announced that they are holding inventory for the public sale starting the 19th so if you miss out on an item there is still time! Here though are some of my favorites that I grabbed in store.
Let’s go ahead and address sizing since I know I will get questions. I am 5’5 and typically wear a 10/12 and M top, although I am a 36DD so if items run tight across the chest that can be an issue. I am a mom of 2 so we will just say I have thicker thighs and a mama pooch so I will describe items as they fit on me.
**Important Note on shopping: To ensure that I can continue to bring you great products please use the links provided on the blog so I can show Nordstrom what you are loving and get credit for your purchase. This works best on a computer or laptop but if you are shopping on your mobile device just make sure to complete your transaction in whatever social media window or browser you clicked from. Thank you for your continued support.
I was expecting to not like this cardigan because some longer styles can really swallow me up but this one was soft and streamlined. Since it does not have pockets it lays very nice and doesn’t add bulk around my hips. I was intending to purchase the Halogen Long Ribbed Cardigan but it was not in my store so I will end up buying that one online. Fit Tips: Size down if in-between, M
These rounded neck tees are great layering basics. I love that they have a good length, and although the white is somewhat sheer when you wear dark pants/ jeans you don’t see my bra. I had to grab a basic white but also picked up this cute stripe and LOVED the grey stars. Fit Tips: Tee size down if in-between, M
I have always liked KUT from the Kloth jeans because they typically have a mid rise and good length but when I saw the original sku list I didn’t see any in the sale, thank goodness I rolled into my store and saw SEVERAL styles including my favorite Catherine Boyfriend fit from this outfit. Since I have a few pairs already I ended up with the black raw hem style. Fit Tips: In the jeans size down if in-between unlike in the Ponte pants stay tts.
When I saw these online I knew that I loved the moon and star idea but seeing them on and all the tops that I will wear these with they had to immediately come home with me! Fit Tips: This has 3 links to adjust the length to your desire, both are on the 2nd hoop here.
To be honest I am still a little torn on these booties. I knew that I wanted to get a snakeskin bootie for fall since it is such a trend but I’m having a bit harder time styling these than I expected. Although I have seen these ALL OVER the internet so I grabbed them hoping to make my decision later. The other style that I’m still considering is these that have a perforated top to them which might be more practical for Texas weather. Fit Tips: size up 1/2 size
Last year this style cardigan came in a orange stripe and after I saw it a million times AND my friend Mandi wore it I wanted one but by then they were SOLD OUT. This year I’m loving the colors even more and I’m grabbing this early. This style does tend to be more oversized/ slouchy so just be aware when you are getting your correct size. Fit Tips: tts, M
This is another item that came out last year and I did not grab early enough, then I was scrambling to find some nice camis to layer under jackets and cardigans and wished I had grabbed these. Although I have the cream color listed I’m grabbing this in cream AND the gorgeous new leopard print. I expect the leopard to be an early sell out. Fit Tips: This cami I am pretty much in-between sizes, the L was way too big in the arm holes, yet the M was tighter across the chest. I am going to try this cami in cream to see if it has a better fit.
These jeans might be the biggest surprise of the sale for me. I love Wit & Wisdom for the stretchy waistband so when you add slimming stretch all over a good light distressing and raw hem these Spanx are PERFECT! I didn’t like the faux leather leggings from last year because it is so hot where we live I just never found a reason to wear them. These though have all the same slimming and stretch with a little bit more “wearable” finish in my opinion. Fit Tips: tts, L
These booties I fell in love with the color, it is hard to find a good cognac colored boot at a reasonable price. These are great because they also come in wide which is good because they are a bit hard to get on and off so if you have a bit wider feet go with the wide. Fit Tips: tts
Moto Jacket | Similar Cami | Bootcut jeans | Similar Booties
I have a bad feeling that this Moto jacket is going to be a first day sell-out, first because it was in the Early Access catalog which means everyone has been staring at it for weeks. Snakeskin is having a total moment this fall and the price is GOOD. If you are not able to grab one of these I’m also loving Next Level Suede Moto Jacket (sale price $125.09, After Sale $188) that has some updated colors from last year. Fit Tips: Jacket is tts, M
Similar Tunic Sweater | Jeans | Tall Boots
Wit & Wisdom Ab-solution Print Side Zip Ankle Skinny Jeans (Sale Price $51.90, After Sale $78)
This was so so hard on which pair of Wit & Wisdom jeans I wanted to list as my top ones because I will for sure be buying these distressed ones since they were not available in store ones but these snakeskin print ones were just too FUN!! If you are not familiar with this brand they have an internal elastic band that makes wearing these so slimming and comfortable. Since they are under $52 during NSale it’s worth just grabbing a few. They have dark blue, black and an itty bitty bootcut that I own all three already! Fit Tips: Wit & Wisdom jeans run but these were more tts so I’m in a 10 but would prefer a 12. The regular ones fit like my others so I wear a 10P so size down.
Well if you can tell I was not expecting to grab some high boots but I had been looking for a lower heel tall boot that was not as casual as my Born boots. Last year I tried some on and the shafts were all too tight because I”m in-between a regular and wide calf and these were perfect! My friend Holly also tried in them in tan and just as gorgeous so these got added to the must have list!
Cream Mock Turtle Necks I knew I had this older version from Aerie so I did not pick up either of these that I tried on from the sale but the Caslon super soft yet a little boxy so you might size down for a more fitted look, I’m in a M. The Free People was very cute and soft so it would be my pick, also in a M, tts.
Now one of the reason these pants made the list is I thought they would be PERFECT for business casual and teacher outfits. They have a great dark burgundy color, 10″ rise and 5% spandex so for sure you can move around. Fit Tips: These are more tts than other KUT pants so I’m in a 10 but needed a 12
This plaid shirt is probably the best fitting of any I have purchased. It does not pull at my chest, has a good oversized feel but not too big where it looks sloppy. I love the cream, maroon and light pink colors that coordinate with a ton for fall including this Sole Society tote only $32.90.
I heard that these wedge sneakers were good but OMG they are so comfortable. I love that they give me a little height and still look great with jeans or a casual dress.
Thank you so much for shopping with me!! I will be updating my favorites as the sale continues on each page dedicated to the departments. I hope of few of these outfits make it into your fall wardrobe.
