Now that we are deep into summer with school starting in about month all I can think about is getting OUT! Now for safety reasons summer trips this year look a little different and most of us are ROAD TRIPPIN! The newest collection from Gibsonlook with collaboration from @NashvilleTash @EconomyofStyle @DTKAustin and @Lipstickheelsandababy brings the inspiration of wide open spaces and a bit of a western theme. The Road Trip Collection is available starting today July 16th, exclusively online at Gibsonlook.com!!

Now for the nitty gritty parts, each collection can vary in styles and sizing so I try and go through that first. Gibsonlook has free shipping and exchanges but you will pay for returns so I try to ensure you get the right stuff from the start! If you want to get some more idea on my sizing from different brands check out my full page of outfits of the week with sizing info.
I am typically a 10/M/ 36DD in Gibson tops and L/12 in Gibson bottoms. I am 5’5 and in-between a petite and regular on length in most pants and skirts depending on fit. I did not receive all pieces in the collection so I will be basing my other sizing recommendations off of previous purchases and online guides. This collection is running more fitted than other collections in the past so in the pieces I received if in doubt size UP!
- Jess Fay Smocked Detail V Neck Blouse– size down if in-between I’m in a L but could have done a M
- Jess Fay V Neck Ruffle Trim Tee– size up if in-between or larger chested in a L and it fits well.
- DTKAustin Fit and Flare Belted Halter Dress– absolutely size up, this dress is running very small in the bodice and chest in a L and need an XL, this barely zipped.
- Jess Fay Tiered Skirt– true to size skirt is adorable and I’m in a L with a little room.
- Economy of Style Off the Shoulder Tie Waist Dress– true to size in a L and it’s good
Items in collection I did not receive:
- DTKAustin Puff Sleeve Tee– I would stay true to size and get M
- Hello Happiness Off the Shoulder Tie Waist Romper– size up if in-between I would wear L
- Hello Happiness Puff Sleeve Smocked Maxi Dress– With the stretchy smocking I would stay true to size but for my chest I would grab a L
Jess Fay Smocked Detail V Neck Blouse
I saw this blouse and knew I needed both colors because it’s so cute! It’s one of my favorite styles from Gibson with a looser, flowy fit but this one has an adorable smocked shoulder and back detail. I love it for casual or it can be paired with my Gibson knit blazer for a great business casual look.
I had a ton of requests in the spring when I first picked up this knit blazer for some great tops to pair it with and this new print is perfection! The small flowers have a pop of the same blue. It hits at the tops of my hips but check out my IG stories to see how I shortened the blue one with my skirt!
Fit Tips: blouse size down if in-between I’m in a L but could have used a M // Blazer tts, M // jeans in a petite for ankle length in 31/ 12 // Rothy’s size up 1/2-1 whole size in this style
Jess Fay V Neck Ruffle Trim Tee
Well let’s just be honest I love a cute v-neck! This one is lined with soft, stretchy material so no worries on anything showing through. I love the ruffle detail around the neck and length making it the perfect Zoom meeting top! In my pic you can throw on a blazer for a more professional look or just some shorts and it’s all work/ weekend perfection. I felt like this ran a bit tight or I just preferred a non fitted look so the large was perfect.
Fit Tips: Tee size up if larger chested, this is stretchy and lined so no show through, L // joggers tts, L // denim shorts size up in a 12 but could use a size larger
DTKAustin Fit and Flare Belted Halter Dress
I love a great fit and flare dress and the color of this is so pretty. The bad news is I grabbed the wrong size. It is running VERY fitted through the bodice and the large was so tight that I could barely zip it. I would need to size up to an XL to get the girls in and breathe. The halter style and flare skirt makes it a great summer dress but just double check sizing.
Fit Tips: Dress size UP this runs very fitted through the bodice and the large barely zipped // wedges true to size
Jess Fay Tiered Skirt
There are a ton of tiered short skirts out there but I always feel like I’m gonna flash the world in those. This one with a longer hem still has the fun, flirty shape but with a longer length. I love it here with the bodysuit from the Celebrate Summer collection but it also matches the smocked neck dress for a matching set that looks like a dress.
Fit Tips: Jacket tts, L // Bodysuit tts, L // skirt tts, L // wedges tts
Economy of Style Off the Shoulder Tie Waist Dress
I feel like it can’t be a western themed summer collection without some plaid and this black and white dress is super fun. It’s very lightweight but the skirt section is lined so no show through which it great. Also I’ve had a few people ask for dresses without pockets as to not add any bulk and this style does not have any. It has minimal stretch in the body or skirt but the large was a good size for me.
Fit Tips: Dress size down if smaller chested or straight hips, I need the room in both so stayed with a large.
Thank you so much to the Gibsonlook team and the amazing influencers that allowed me to be a part of this launch. I hope that you stay safe this summer but maybe find some moments to explore, get a little dressed up and enjoy the people around you that you love!
