This week I’ve been doing some spring cleaning and pulling out clothes and bras that I no longer wear. Did you know that Soma has been supporting women and reducing waste by donating and recycling bras for more than a decade?! This has resulted in over 2 million bras that have been reused or repurposed!!
The #braitforward program is re-launching this April in celebration of Earth Day and encourages customers to donate their new or gently worn bras to Soma. The bras are then donated to isupportthegirls & The bra recyclers helping women take care of their self esteem and personal health as well as reduce waste in landfills.
So this weekend clean out those drawers and then swing them by your closest Soma store or check out the website on how to send them in.
Now which bras to replace these with! I wanted to give you one place that has all my favorite styles and sizing recommendations! So here are my favorites:
This is my everyday underwire bra. I feel like it gives me great lift, coverage and back smoothing. I have this in multiple colors but the Warm Amber is a great color match and looks invisible under most white tees. This also comes in a wireless option but I have not tried it yet.
Fits true to size I wear 36DD
I like this style when I have thinner jersey tops and dresses where the front of the cup can look slightly bumpy. This has a thinner front cup to disappear in the front and back. I have found that this style runs smaller in the cup and band so I go up in the band and it’s a perfect fit. This also comes in a front close option with a slightly racerback but that style definitely runs small in the cup so size up!
Size up in band 38DD
This bra is my go to for racerback dresses and tops. It has a beautiful lace back that lays flat and a more Demi cup front (great for lower cut shirts). Since it goes over your head and fastens in the back some people have mentioned issues with that style but I’ve never had over my head issues. This cup also runs small so I have worn in a 36DDD and 38DD depending on what was in stock, right now I prefer the 38 band.
Size up, cup runs small 38DD
This is my must have strapless bra, the only bad news is it keeps selling out! I love the wireless feeling and it really doesn’t MOVE! I have worn this for hours long photo shoots getting in a out of 13 outfits and this didn’t slip or need to be adjusted! I sized up in the band for perfect fit.
Size up in band 38DD
Now I have other wireless and lacy bras that I wear but honestly these are my go-to wear every single day/ week bras. I have found with the Enbliss wireless they run tight in the ribcage so size up for a more comfort fit.
