10 outfits: Warmer Days Ahead
When I asked many of you what you are shopping for I heard a resounding, shorts, tanks, tees and casual dresses!! So friends I’m all here for it, plus I threw in a swimsuit and coverups (I mean summer is RIGHT around the corner).
This edition of 10 outfits I pulled everything from Walmart.com. Last year I found so many great everyday styles that quickly became my go-tos that I figured I would scour the online shelves to see if some of those styles came back, and good news they did!! I also picked Walmart because of their free 2 day shipping over $35+ and easy returns. Now to be honest, I signed up for Walmart+ so I get free next day and 2 day shipping with no minimum.
When shopping online at I always make sure the things I order are listed as ‘sold and shipped by walmart.com’ to ensure easy returns and fastest shipping options.
Before I get started I always like to mention a few stats because I know that online shopping can be a TRICKY. I’m 5’5 and typically a size 12 bottom with many Walmart styles I size up if in-between and have been happy with that. I’m a 36DD 10/M top but have found that most in-house brands like Time & Tru I wear a L.
This sleeveless knit dress is one of my favorite styles from Walmart because it’s super flowy and has pockets!! Plus I always try and pick up something that I can easily throw over a swimsuit for Memorial Day, July 4th and through summer and this dress is it. I will say though because it’s so flowy it can look a little wide at times so to bring some curves I’ll thrown on a denim jacket or just tie it around my waist.
This next dress is a new style that I grabbed this year and loving it! My daughter has a few summer tiered dresses and I love a mommy and me matching moment for as long as she will let me. It’s a lightweight jersey material with slight ruffle on the short sleeve. The length hits right above my knee so still able to lift and bend as mom life requires. I added these super comfy dual toned slides and crochet bag for an easy summer outfit.
This tank is a FAVORITE style from last summer that I have been scouring the internet shelves to see if it would return and it did!! For under $7 these sold out so fast last summer so grab your size QUICK! It has a nice wide shoulder so you can wear a regular bra, not too deep of a v and the body area doesn’t cling!! Now do you see why these sell out. I’m in a large but would say overall it’s true to size for Time and Tru clothing.
The white denim shorts though were a new try for me and I am pleasantly surprised! I had a few friends mention a high rise style which to be honest is not my jam so when I saw that there was a mid-rise I was all about it. These have a 4″ inseam so not too short but I did go up to a size 14 just so the white would not be too tight on my rear.
Although similar in color this tank has a wider “muscle” style shoulder and a more faded burn out texture. I would also mention that this tank feels a bit softer and thinner along the lines of that vintage vibe. The arm holes are slightly large so I could easily size down in this but would lose some of the oversized feel I like so I stuck with the large.
These shorts are another surprise HIT! It’s next to impossible to find a slightly stretchy, mid-rise 5″ inseam short and these check all the boxes. These are a slightly higher rise than the rolled cuff style but so cute and for under $25 worth grabbing all the colors! Keep in mind other washes are also more distressed than these.
Time for the pool! Yes friends as the weather warms up we are itching to swim and unfortunately we still have awhile to go before our pool is done so I’ll still be trekking it down to our local community pool so cute coverups are on the list. This floral one was so cute with the green swimsuit I found. I love the side ruffle, deep v and lightweight feel.
Now if you are not a “color” person scroll on down because I tried out the classic black too!
The swimsuit that was under that coverup is this green tank swimsuit. I like the thick straps, full coverage rear and internal shelf bra. The downside to this style is it has minimal slimming belly panels so it does show a bit more than I am used to. Overall it’s comfy and a great color so worth keeping for all those lazy pool days.
Same as the coral v-neck tank this tea leaf color is perfect for summer AND it matches my cute circle tote I grabbed. Paired with these studded sandals and white shorts it’s an easy cute summer outfit. These studded sandals are very comfortable and make a fun statement, just be careful crossing your legs!
I feel like everyone needs great tanks and tees for summer and I’ve already shown you my go-to v neck tank so check out the t-shirt staple. This is a thicker and a bit softer material than the tank and has a good short sleeve style. I have this now in two colors and it has washed and worn so well that I’m headed back for more (I’m thinking the fun red for summer!)
Remember that coverup you saw just a little bit ago well if you are not into prints no worries it also comes in black and solid white. I love it with this adorable black and white tote that has a zip top for those beach vacations where you want everything to stay inside your bag!
Finally one of the best fitting t-shirt dresses I own! This one is a lightweight cotton material with small chest pocket but doesn’t cling in the belly, rear or hem. It hits slightly above my knee so again that not too short, not too long goldilocks kind of dress. The downside is that it is back in limited colors so I’m seeing black and navy in stock in this style with a pocket but there is another style without a pocket with a few more color options.
