If you haven’t heard of NYDJ, listen up because this brand has such quality pieces that can easily take me from work to weekend with all the mom life in between. I was first introduced to the brand in summer when I was on the hunt for a great pair of work pants. I grabbed a pair of their ponte trouser pants and fell in love!
Then I looked through their website and saw a TON of great pieces that are great for work, weekend and even date night! Since this is a new brand to me (and possibly you) PLEASE look closely at the fit tips since some of their sizing runs a bit more generous than other brands.
Fit Tips: Blouse: M (size down if in between) // Pants: 12 (true to size) // Pumps (true to size) // Blazer: L (true to size)
Since workwear is what initially made me fall in love with NYDJ, let’s chat about that. I gravitate towards ponte pants because they are stretchy and comfortable, yet still look good. The key to them still looking professional is the cut and thickness. The NYDJ Straight Pull-On Pant has a wide band for the waist, good thickness and this great wider-leg style.
The blazer is made from the same stretchy ponte knit and has a longer length that I’m loving. I had on this outfit and said, “I’m feeling very Meghan Markle in NYC.”
Fit Tips: Blouse: M (size down if in between) // Jeans: 10P (size down) // Loafers (true to size) // Cardigan: M (size down)
Now taking that same beautiful fall blouse, I wanted to style it for weekends when maybe you are meeting friends or running errands. This stunning boysenberry cardigan is not too thick, but just enough, and super soft. With the longer length, it’s great for layering with jeans or leggings.
Now, NYDJ is known for their jeans, originally named “Not Your Daughter’s Jeans,” and I feel like it’s because they really appeal to women with curves who want to be comfortable! The Sheri Slim style is available with a comfortable rise that hits at 9.25” and a waistband that does not cut in but stretches with my curves. In general, NYDJ jeans run a size large, so if this is your first time buying them, size down one size from what you typically wear. I know I was hesitant as well, but even though the 10s were a little snug when I first put them on, they stretched a bit and are perfect.
Fit Tips: Blouse size down if in-between, M // Jeans size down, 10P // Pumps tts // Blazer tts, L
This final look is great for a casual date night or if you need a cute business look with jeans. This time around, I tried the Marilyn Straight jeans in a longer length. These come in regular with a 32” inseam or petite in a 30” inseam. I opted for the petite, and they are perfect.
Like the previous jean style, I was hesitant on adhering to the website and sizing down, especially since I got a petite, but lo and behold, the 10P did fit! Keep in mind, since I went to the petite, the rise also went down to a true mid-rise at 10.25”, making these some amazing jeans.
The final mention has to go to these pumps!! So many of you have asked for a work pump with a lower heel, and it’s been hard to find until now. These pumps are sooo comfortable and come in a 3” heel. The base of the heel is slightly wider, so it gives a ton more stability and walkability. I’m wearing the nude color, but go check out the holiday red and snake print.
