As I’ve looked back over the years, I tend to share my fall and holiday home decor the most. Maybe it’s because it’s a change from my typical neutral coastal palette or maybe it kicks off a season I love. Either way, I’m here for it and so excited for our first fall in Albuquerque.

If you are just joining me, our family has moved twice in the past three years and just moved to Albuquerque in June. While we will miss the stunning changing of the leaves in Colorado I will NOT miss the 7 months of winter that follows it! Prior to CO we lived in Texas for over 20 years so I’m also fully aware of living in a place that the only time it feels like fall is inside my own home with the AC blasting!
First, let’s chat about home layout.
Our new home is very modern and very open, tons more glass, black accents and white tile floors. I’m a much more warm woods and mixed metals kind of girl (see our Colorado home here that was more my vibe) but I’ve tried to bring in more woods and warmer tones to play off the wood ceiling and shelving.

This year I may have gone overboard on the faux fall leaves but every time I was in Target I fell in love with something new! Plus I used a ton of items I had from previous years giving that feel of the CO leaves changing. Also if you can’t tell I love a vignette! Tall, medium and small in a group of 3 is my go to.
Also we are planning on changing out our pretty traditional rug in the space but as many of y’all know making a house a home takes time but our girl Cider has settled right in!
One area that I loved styling when we moved in were the floating shelves. I felt like adding layers here brought in more warmth so I just changed out a few things to give it a fall vibe.

What I added new this year were a ton of textured pumpkins and this small arrangement from Target (also have the bigger style) on our couch side table.
Similar to our previous home our living, kitchen and dining are all very open to one another yet in this home we have a bit more defined dining area. In this area I also have a wine room! The back is a backlight granite making the area feel warm so I stuck warm neutrals to play up this area.
