Spring Jeans Under $150

Over the past few years, it’s felt hard to keep up with what jean styles are “in” what I’ve learned though is I’m concerned most with what fits my BODY vs the trend of the moment.. I mean have you seen the “barrel jeans” trend yuck!

I carry most of my weight in my butt and thighs while having an H-shaped rear (explained in this post) making styles that cinch at the waist VERY uncomfortable.  

This season I’ve tried to hunt down jeans at a variety of price points perfect for spring styling! If you want to see more of my favorites as the season progresses I’ll save them HERE.

For reference I’m 5’5, size 12, 38DD. I list the sizes I’m wearing below each image and give my fit tips based on my previous experience with the brand and on the size guides provided.

UNDER $50

GRAPENT Wide Leg Jeans | Tee (L)

Fit tips: 11.5″ Rise | size XL, 32″ inseam (wearing heels)

These Amazon jeans were such a surprise hit since they have some stretch and are a lightweight denim. These come in a ton of washes and a 32″ inseam or 28″ inseam. For the wider leg style, I like to wear with heels so I opted for the 32″ inseam. These are available in XS- XXL 28″ & 32″ inseams(stay away from the white though they are sheer!)

Time and Tru Women’s High Rise Straight Crop Jeans | Tee (L)

Fit tips: 11.25″ rise | size 14 (still slightly tight)

These Walmart jeans were another HUGE find for under $20 this season. These have a more rigid fabric making them for sure fit on the tight side, I sized up to a 14 and they are still a little tight. These also only come in one length so not always the best if you are taller or have longer legs. These come in sizes 2-20.

Fit tips: 11.5″ rise | size 12R (tight, could use 14)

I was so happy with these maurices jeans and with their current 30% off it drops these jeans under $50. These have no stretch but not a ton so they are more on the snug side. These have a lighter weight fabric great as the weather warms up. These come in 0-18 short, regular & long.

m jeans by maurices™ Everflex™ Mid Rise Mid Fit Slim Straight Ankle Jean | Tee (L)

Fit tips: 11.5″ rise | size 12 (slightly tight on thighs) mid-rise, mid-fit

This pair of maurices I was so happy with because they have started to offer a fit called “mid-fit” which has more room around the mid-section (great for H shaped rears). These do not have much stretch but do loosen a it as you wear. These are the more tapered straight leg that I have making them great with heels and sandals. Come in sizes 0-24, 3 fits & short, regular & long making them the jean for EVERYONE!

UNDER $100

LOFT Flap Coin Pocket High Rise Kick Crop | Tee (L)

Fit tips: 12.5″ Rise | Size 12/ 31R (slightly loose)

I’ve always been a big fan of the LOFT kick crop jean so as soon as I saw this style I snagged them. Let’s just say I was right! These have some good stretch, great rise, length and color while still under $100 and may times you can catch them even under $50. These come in sizes 24-34 and regular, petite and tall.

UNDER $150

GA Good Curve High Waist Straight Leg Jeans | Tee (L)

Fit tips: 12.75″ Rise | Size 14

I’ve been a fan of Good American jeans for awhile since the good legs and good curve fit my body so well! These have a thicker denim really keeping my belly in and smoothing out the rear. This style is more of a wider straight leg making it a great pair if you are venturing into the wide leg style but not quite there. Since Good American does not offer lengths I tend to cut my jeans to the inseam I like. Sizes 00-30

GA Good Legs Crop Mini Bootcut Jeans | Tee (L)

Fit tips: 12″ rise | size 14 (slightly large)

Since these are a bit lower rise than the good curve I like the fit a bit better, plus these have a bit more stretch making me in-between sizes. I love the distressing at the knees and thicker denim that these higher quality jeans offer. On this style the length was good as is and hits right below my ankle. Available in 00-18.

GA Good Straight High Waist Raw Hem Straight Leg Jeans | Tee (L)

Fit tips: 11.5″ rise | size 12 (little tight)

This pair of Good American jeans I got several years ago and soo happy they are back! These are some oof the best white jeans because they are not sheer at all, mid-rise and have a tighter straight leg style that is easy to wear with sandals or heels. While these come with a raw hem I did trim about 1.5″ off the length to have them more ankle style. Available in sizes 00-30.

KUT Meg Wide Leg With Raw Hem | Tee (L)

Fit tips: 12″ rise | size 12 (little loose)

This season I’m trying some of the wider leg style jeans and I tried a TON to get one pair that I feel compliments my curves. These KUT jeans are SUPER stretchy (I could have even gone down a size) and have a wide cropped style. Now on my height these end up more ankle length than a true crop but I think they look good with sandals at this length. One other thing to mention is KUT is notorious for increasing rise with size so the listing shows these jeans to be a 10.5″ rise but the size 12 is a 12″ rise. Available in sizes 00-16.

Madewell Kick Out Crop Jeans | Tee (L)

Fit tips: 11.5″ rise | size 31 (little loose)

I’m a big fan of Madewell jeans and got a lighter version of these during the NSALE so I went back for a new wash this spring. I love that they are SUPER stretchy and a lower mid-rise. They have a thicker denim feel so they slim the belly and help with booty lift! These come in several colors/ washes and a bunch of size options. Available in sizes 23/00- 28W and inseams petite, standard, tall & taller!
