About 6 months ago I would have laughed if you told me that I would love all things American Eagle, and what is Aerie? I completely judged the brand being only for high school and college kids and they could never have jeans or tops that fit this curvy size 10/12 5’5 36DD mama of 2, well I was wrong. Over the winter I found a ton of jeans, workout pants and the coziest sweatshirts so of course come spring I went back for more and WOW I am so happy I did. Honestly I am still getting items in because as soon as I think I’m done I find some something else I want for spring, plus they have GREAT prices!
Today I’m sharing a recent try-on I did at the store plus a few of the other items I’ve gotten in since then and some outfit pairings. To begin I mentioned I’m 5’5 so typically I will get a short in AEO jeans and I LOVE that they do not adjust the fit with the length and almost all of them come in x-short all the way to x-long so you can get the exact length your body needs. In denim at American Eagle I always size up to a 12 so if you are in-between I would recommend sizing up. Also “tts” means true to size which for me in tops is a medium.

I can’t say enough good things about these shorts and you all have told me these were around last year too, what?! I apparently missed the boat but not this year! These are super soft and silky and the elastic waistband hits at the perfect mid-rise. They have pockets and a tie waist so if you are in-between sizes I would size up then tie the tie tighter (say that 3 times fast). I love this camo green color but they come in khaki, pink camo, black and denim. Along with the shorts I found this cute soft jersey feeling tank with buttons and lace, since it was a good length and did not cling to my belly I grabbed it in two colors! The denim jacket I’ve had for awhile but still available online.
Fit Tips: size up if in-between on the shorts, I’m in a large. Tank is tts, I’m in a medium. Jacket is also tts, I’m in a medium and flip flops size up 1/2 size.

I know I found you a good camo shirt off Amazon but y’all this one is better! It has more of a washed print and it does not cling at all! It has cute cuffed sleeves and a great length to keep untucked or do a half tuck. I paired it with white jeans and a light denim shirt in the store but when I came home I probably would wear this all summer with some distressed shorts and converse for a super easy run around town look. Also when I went to find this light colored camp shirt it’s not online so I have linked the same shirt in green sorry friends!
Fit Tips: Camo shirt is tts, I’m in a medium, jeans size up and in a short length (12 short) and camp shirt is tts in a medium this style fit more loose.

Now this utility shirt is the one I ended up ordering because they did not have a large in store but I loved it so much I knew I had to have it! It is super soft yet the pockets and shoulder detail gives that utility look without the bulk of a jacket. I have already worn this a few times, by itself and layered like you see here. This is pretty much the most versatile shirt you are going to find! I just got in this $18 Amazon jersey dress and since it has short sleeves I thought what a great time to throw over my new shirt. Both looks I’m going to be wearing a ton!
Fit Tips: size up in the utility shirt if you want a looser layering look, I ordered the large. Dress size up, I grabbed a large. Pink slip on shoes tts, these are tight at first but loosen up. Distressed Jeans size up and short length, button tank runs REALLY tight, this is a large and it’s still tight (not the best for big chests) I prefer the next tank.

I was originally hesitant on ordering these green jeggings because they a high waisted and normally those don’t fit me great. I got these in and although they are a bit higher than I would prefer they are still very comfortable and don’t roll down. I fell in love with the dusty green color since it works so well with several of my other staple pieces. I recently picked up these Amazon sandals and they look so cute with these jeans (I wore to dinner and totally forgot to take a pic #bloggerfail). They fit true to size and for under $30 they are a steal! The jeans are all still BOGO 50% off so if you are grabbing the distressed pair pick these up too, your won’t regret it!
Fit Tips: Jeans size up and short length (12 short), tank fits tts I wear a medium, darker denim jacket inn first pic fits tts and I wear a medium, lighter denim jacket in pic #2 is a large but tts (check the size guide). Sandals tts and my leopard shoes are out of stock so I linked a popular pair from Nordstrom.

When I was doing my try on I thought ok I need to find something other than my beloved super soft jegging so I grabbed these distressed jeans and I was surprised that they fit almost identical to my other jeggings! These have a mid rise, good stretch and most of the distressing is actually patched on the inside so your foot isn’t tearing through holes. I don’t typically like a ton of distressing (because really no one needs to see my thighs squish through when I sit down) but these I really liked. The sweatshirt I grabbed in camo and this pretty lilac color, unfortunately the camo has been selling out quick so I just posted this color. It is great for spring and really comfy, plus the added white arm bands makes it feel sporty. Now the GIRL PWR shirt got me the second I saw it. It is a “boyfriend” cut meaning it’s oversized and soft as can be! It has distressing on the collar so don’t be shocked if yours looks like you had it for 15 years (that’s the way it’s supposed to look). I tied it up here since it has enough fabric to do that but honestly I’ve worn it to bed several times because it’s just that soft!
Fit Tips: I always size up and get a short length in AEO jeans and these are no exception. So size up if you are in-between. Sweatshirt runs tts, I’m in a medium. Tee is oversized and medium was perfect.

Now the last thing I wanted to show you is not American Eagle but I will be wearing with almost ALL these outfits and thats this gorgeous wrap bracelet. It looks great with my Tiffany bracelet my husband gave me for Christmas several years ago. It has the perfect green and khaki plus a little sparkle in the cut stones. I also got a blush colored one that will be on repeat as well and its BOGO free so grab a few!
