Maybe I watched too much World of Dance this summer but I’m loving my “battle” posts between a Save vs Splurge items so I’m continuing them! Today I’m talking about rust colored cardigans. These are perfect for fall since they are lightweight and go great with mustard, green, brown and animal prints! The two I’m comparing today are Leith Ribbed Cocoon Sweater $69 color Brown Spice and Target Cocoon Cardigan in Rust $22.99.
Leith Ribbed Cocoon Cardigan $69
The Leith cardigan I got right after the Nordstrom sale ended so I wish I could say that I snagged it on sale but alas I did not. I was hunting for a good fall color and this screamed my name. The listing online says that it runs large and to order one size down but I ordered in my typical medium size and really like it. It has a good length where it covers the bum but not too long where it’s getting in the way. I love the rounded hem with a good amount of fabric in the collar area so it has good draping. I have worn this with a ton of outfits and although it it more I reach for it over and over which in my book helps me feel like I’m getting my money worth.
Target Cocoon Sweater $22.99
As you know I love this Target cardigan it’s the same style as the one in my big work wear post so when I saw they had it in a rust color I HAD to see if it was as good as I thought it would be! This one is a bit shorter and has less fabric at the front to drape but this also makes this one much lighter weight and in Texas that’s a good thing!
At the end of the day the battle was TOUGH because I truly do love both of these cardigans for different reasons but I am keeping the Leith and will grab the Target in another color since I really love it. Let’s for a minute talk about the rest of this outfit though because regardless of which cardigan you pick you absolutely need this adorable tank and shoes!
The leopard print tank currently $5 ($8 regular price) is an amazing find from Target and I originally got in a medium (my true size) but after I tried it on a few times I realized I needed a size up. It’s still a fitted tank but sizing up seemed to keep it from pulling too much around the mama belly, seriously who needs that!
I almost wanted to do an entire blog post about these shoes because they are just that good! I ordered these a bit back and when they came in I thought maybe they were the wrong size since my toes came pretty close to the end but after wearing a few times they really are the perfect fit (true to size, I wear a 7). One thing is they do loosen up a bit in the top cut out area but for me it is perfect because I have a pretty high arch and problems with some shoes rubbing the top of my foot too much! These come in three colors but this pumpernickel suede is the perfect fall color and coordinates with a ton… if you haven’t already seen them in a few posts.
I’m so excited to tell you about my new Shop Style page where you can check out these looks and even save them to be alerted when things go on sale! The crazy thing is that Apple is starting to change how all this stuff works so when you are shopping please click on one of my links right before you buy. I have tried to make this easy for you by creating a Shop With Me Page where you can find all my links. If you were to purchase an item I would receive a small commission that not only allows me to call this my business but also makes me do a big ol happy dance so thank you.
