Today I have teamed up with my amazing photographer Regan Morton Photography to give you some ideas when it comes to Fall Family Photos. For many families it’s hard enough to book a date that everyone can attend then you have to think about colors and outfits (AAHHH!) I would go on Pinterest and spend hours looking at ideas just to get frustrated that nothing I wanted was actually available in stores. I put together some color schemes and items for Mom, Dad, Little Girl and Little Boy. I know not all families will have this combination but ours does and I’m shopping too!! Gold, Navy & Crimson
My inspiration family has beautiful shades of crimson and the pop of gold in the little girl’s dress. I will be honest and say that this is one of my favorite color combinations and we did this two years ago.
In my set I have match the Mom dress and the Dad shirt at Target and they are the same shade of crimson/berry so no worries on buying. Also the Dad khakis and little boy are very close shades of the same family so also will coordinate well. Little Girl gold dress and the long sleeve stripe shirt are both Hanna Andersson in color afternoon sun. If you are in a colder climate you can have Dad layer the sweater over the shirt or there is another plaid shirt with the same berry just not as pronounced I will link as well. One thing I liked about this shirt though is it’s available in a regular, slim and big & tall so all dads are covered!

Denim, Cream & Blue
This color combination is very classic and can be done in a preppy way, western or just casual. I love preppy clothes so much and wish many times that I lived on the East Coast so I could get away with pearls and pastel pink all year long but alas I live in Texas so I like mixing my preppy with a little trendy. As you can see from the side picture there is another beautiful family that took this color pallet more denim and tan Texas style and it’s beautiful as well so play with the style that shows your family’s personality.

Brown, Berry & Cream
This inspiration photo is my sweet daughter back when she was about 18 months old. She had an epic meltdown during the photo session that ended up one of my favorite pictures of all time (please notice the drool down her skirt) well come to find out she was just hangry and Regan knew to bribe a little girl with some Pirate Booty and that’s when she captured this amazing pic, my kid chowing down.
This season I have been in LOVE with the berry colored dresses that Boden has from a soft pink (milkshake) to burgundy. I love their little girl styles that include jersey soft dresses and cord dresses with amazing detailed pockets. I heard from my friends that dads are maybe 60/40 on the “ok with pink” so I paired this with a more berry plaid shirt with most of his look in a cozy brown for that neutral. I also have him in a dark wash jean, but if you can get your man in a color way to go!

Red, Navy & Cream
In my set I stayed pretty close to the original for this picture because these are just classic colors that you can normally find in your closet. I will say that the touches of green in their plaid makes a great statement but I can not find a red and green plaid scarf to save my life! The one she is wearing is last year Nordstrom so if you have it already you are set. If you love the scarf I chose you can try it as pictured or I have added some plaid from Hanna Andersson that has a touch of the yellow in it as well. In my picture I did put the little boy in plaid since sister will be in our pop of red but if you only have one child make sure they are your pop of color, also this plaid shirt comes in older boy sizes too so great for big families. These are both from the Gap so the colors should be an exact match. I added khakis to Dad for some extra color since not everyone is going to have such a beautiful dog family member.
