It’s that time of the year when I pack away the flip flops and think oh man NOW what do I wear! With our upcoming move to Colorado I knew that it was time to invest in some more boots that I can wear in “real” winter.

I wanted so variety that I could dress up or down and get ready for a SNOWY winter. All of these styles I got from Nordstrom.com. I love getting shoes there because when I’m not 100% sure of sizing the free shipping and returns makes it so easy to try on at home versus driving across town to my nearest store.
The have sections for popular styles like snow & winter, booties & boots making it easy to find the styles I wanted to add to my wardrobe.

SNOW BOOT
While I’ve had a pair of snow boots that got me through the freak Texas snow storms I knew it was time to invest in a GOOD pair of Sorel. This brand is know for keeping feet snug and dry even in the hardest winters and who knows what Denver will throw at me this year. The suede is waterproof and the interior lining is super soft and comfortable.

CHELSEA BOOT
While I know last fall the chunky Doc Martens were making a comeback but I just could never get into that trend. Instead I love the sleeker more classic look of a Chelsea Boot to wear with straight leg jeans. This pair from Steve Madden has a a shaft that is not too tall making it easier to get in and out of.

KNEE HIGH BOOT
Every fall I find a great pair of knee high boots that can be worn with skirts and dresses. This year this lower heel (2.5″) Sam Edelman boots have been perfection! The shaft on these are not too tight but also not too loose (maybe around a 16″) and this warm oat suede is a great neutral but I also picked up the copper leather and love them just as much.

POINTED TOE BOOTIE
This 3.5″ stiletto heel might be a little high for some but I LOVE the look of a sleek heel but in a boot. Last winter I wore a similar pair a ton with dress slacks, skirts & dresses that when I saw this pair from Schutz I knew I needed them in my fall shoe wardrobe. These also come in 4 other stunning fall colors.

SHORT WINTER BOOTS
Now I went back and forth between these lace up and the classic short Ugg booties but I liked that these has a more rustic, outdoorsy feel to them. I wanted something that I could easily pair with leggings or jeans and know that I will get a ton of use out of this style. They are waterproof and have a super soft lining yet with the laces are easy to get on and off.

As I have added new styles to my closet I also wanted to show some ideas on ways to pair them with different jeans, pants and dresses/ skirts. Here is what I would wear these boots with.

Straight Leg | Jegging | Denim Skinny | Bootcut | Skinny
Legging | Faux Leather | Athletic Legging | Coated Flare | Plaid Skirt
Coated Straight | Faux Suede | Jumpsuit | Sweater Dress | Long Sweater Dress
