This weekend is Easter and if you have been hanging around the blog you have seen that I’ve been getting everything ready for the kids. Grabbing the baskets and finding all the best items for them this year but now it’s my turn! Typically we head out of town for Easter but this year we are staying home so I wanted to have a casual yet nice dress that I would be comfortable in for egg hunting, making meals and just daily mom life. This maxi dress from the GibsonxHiSugarplum collection is perfect. I had tried it in January when it first released but unfortunately the sizing was off so I was waiting around until it was restocked.
The first time around I ordered a medium which was too tight in the bust but I really liked that it was lined, had pockets and a really great racerback. This is one of the few maxi dresses that I have found that also was short enough for me at 5’5 to wear with flip flops. Both the large and medium hit right at my ankle so if you are taller than 5’5 just know this will be a midi style.
To be honest I’m so glad that I waited because I had hoped that they would re-release this style in the Dahlia Vines print (see the post where I called it here) since the light pink background is just so pretty for spring. I also love this print because it pairs really well with a denim jacket and to be honest there are many times when I want something covering my arms when we have those cooler spring days.
This KUT from the KLOTH denim jacket has quickly risen to the top of my favorites since it has a great lighter color, cropped and fitted feel and STRETCH! Due to those reasons I keep reaching for it over and over again. Now I recently saw that they are making this same style in a lighter wash and since I love this one so much I’m really tempted to grab that one too.
EARRINGS
The other great thing about this dress is because it has so many fun colors I’ve been able to pull out a ton of fun accessories to pair with it. These Bauble Bar tassel earrings are so fun when I want to dress up this maxi. These are the mint color and unfortunately sold out quickly on the Nordstrom website but you can grab the color straight from Bauble Bar and grab a free pair of sunglasses with your order over $40.
EARRINGS
When I need a little more understated earring to go with this dress (aka egg hunting) I’m wearing these new peach pearl Kendra Scott ones. I have this shape in a couple colors and it is so versatile yet still makes a statement.
