Spring event season is HERE! From weddings, baby showers, Easter, Mother’s Day it’s that time of the year when I’m on the hunt for something pretty that can take me through the season. Today I’ve teamed up with Nordstrom to share some of my picks for spring event dresses.
When I’m looking for special occasion dresses I always head to Nordstrom.com because I know that I find a variety of styles and brands that I work for any and everything on my calendar! They even have a dedicated page for weddings outfits making it easy to also grab the perfect shoes and accessories to complete the look.
Fit Tips: Heels true to size
I got this maxi dress because I love the colors and flow to it. While most of my picks were pinks this stunning blue is such a show stopper! It’s fully lined and has a mesh fabric top making it not sheer yet still light for warmer weather or an outdoor wedding.

Fit Tips: Dress runs large size down if in-between I’m in a 12 but it’s clipped in the back, need size 10
Now I know that I am going to get a lot of questions on undergarments. I am wearing the Red Carpet Strapless Bra with the Thinstincts® High Waist Mid Thigh Shaper Shorts. I like a short under longer dresses to save my thighs but these are a good balance of lightweight and smoothing.
If you have a dress that is on the shorter side I also love some of the high waisted thong and panty options.
While I feel like my dress can be worn for a ton of events the biggest request I’ve had recently has been for wedding guest dresses. Since that has run the gamut of daytime casual to evening formal I rounded up even more styles for whatever type of wedding you have been invited to. The first set of dresses are great for a semi-formal wedding, typically day time or in a more casual venue.
Now I also had quite a few requests for aunt/ mom of the bride or groom dresses. Now this one was harder for me since my kiddos are only 7 and 10 thinking about their weddings seem soo far away. Yet one of my close friends just has gone through 2 weddings in the past year of her step daughters so I know what things she was looking for.

Dresses that are formal enough to stand with the wedding party but not so over the top that you are outshining the bride. This lace dress was the perfect mix to me. Classic yet can go with a ton of color schemes with the grey, champagne and taupe colors.
With most of my dresses I like to go with neutral accessories. Another great reason I shop at Nordstrom is that I can find a range of price points from designer bags to accessories under $50.
I’m a big fan of Kendra Scott jewelry because I feel like it stands the test of time style wise. These drop earrings are a classic shape of hers that could even be worn by the bride!
Here are a few more neutral accessories that I love and think would look great with many dress options.
The final request I got was for formal and evening weddings. Especially those that mention black tie or you know that the venue will be pretty fancy. This is also the type of dress that is great to have in your closet for a gala or formal fundraiser.
