I don’t know about you but I’ve had fall on the BRAIN! It feels like as soon as August hits we start thinking Back to school and fall festivals. Last week I had a little kid free time while they were with their grandparents so after my haircut I went to my local Evereve store to check out all the new fall arrivals!
It was such a blast to check out what was new in store and what fall trends we will be seeing more of as the season progresses. Since it doesn’t REALLY get cold in Texas for another few months I opted to bring home this gorgeous new Roan + Ryan Emberly Dress.
This dress has all the great fall colors but with a lighter weight flowy fabric. I paired it with these new Vince Camuto boots for a major fall look but I also can see this dress with heels and a blazer for a work look. The longer length rose colored Rachel Blazer is lightweight but makes such a great fall addition (I wear a L).
WHAT ELSE I TRIED (AND BROUGHT HOME)
Fit Tips: Sweater runs large size down if in-between, M // Jeans tts, 12 // Bootie size up 1/2
Now this sweater I love the color combos and the chunky feel, BUT it’s really heavy and thick. This is a type of sweater that in my area I can wear in February so it was a little too much for me for an early fall sweater. The front is a bit shorter but I was able to see this on one of the Evereve employees that is 5’8 and the arms were shorter and it looked great.
This style of Good American jeans is the same that I picked up from the NSALE and while they did take a bit of getting used to them I’m now a huge fan! I love that they do loosen up but don’t stretch out. These are more of a mid/high rise at 10.5″ and the inseam is pretty spot on.
Fit Tips: Henley runs a bit boxy I prefer the fit of the large for a bit more length and flowy feeling // trouser jeans are very soft and stretch out a bit so size down
I saw these “jeans” on another one of the employees at Evereve and they looked so cute on her. Although I forgot that I am about 3 inches shorter so these were LONG on me. They are a super lightweight material that I can’t even call a jean but do feel like a lounge pant with a denim color. Since they are so lightweight and stretchy these run big and kinda stretch out so I ordered the size 30 to arrive soon.
This lightweight henley was another in-store find and while I love the color I thought it was pretty pricey for just a basic tee so this one stayed at the store.
Fit Tips: Jacket true to size in a M but bought a large to zip over my chest // jeans tts, 12 // Sneakers tts
This jacket I saw online and actually ordered so when I went to the store I knew it was on the way but THEN they told me oh did you see the NEW color… WHAT?! This jacket is so unique and cute I knew it would be the perfect layer over casual outfits or athletic clothes that I had to grab the new purple combo.
These Good American jeans are the “Good Waist” style and they felt like they have less stretch and with an 11″ rise they were a bit too high for my comfort level, let’s just say I was holding my breath trying to tie these sneakers because bending at the waist was nearly impossible!
Marrakech Satin Camo Bomber (prefer L in a M)
The bad news is that this color combo is not online yet but I still wanted to show you how stunning it is! Can’t wait to style this with some joggers and sneakers for a mom on the go look (aka how I’ll most likely be sporting it).
Fit Tips: Blouse tts, L // Jeans are lower rise 10″ and longer than my white pair but still tts, 31 // booties size up 1/2
Immediately when I saw this blouse I KNEW I had to try it on, and of course when I did it had to come home with me! It has such a great lightweight feel, cute puff shoulder and stretchy cuffs. I like that it can easily be dressed down like here with jeans or booties or really elevated with dress pants for work. Add a blazer of cardigan and this blouse will take me into late fall.
These Elin Stright Crop Jeans I wanted to try on because I LOVE my white Bree Crop style ones so much. I will say though that they do not have the same level of stretch so the immediate comfort was not quite there. I did purchase these to try on with a few other items and compare to my current jean section but I’m not 100% sure on them quite yet.
Fit Tips: Cardigan tts, L // Cami tts, L (I’m in an XL but brought home the L) // KUT jeans tts, 12 but run long
I wanted to try out a cardigan since I know that they are popular this fall but to be honest they just aren’t my jam. This outfit though could be great with some mules or flats for a cute business casual look into the fall. I did bring home this lace cami! It is lined and loved the cream color and length.
The KUT from the Kloth jeans are a fun fall color and great for those of you looking for an alternative to black and blue but these were really long on me (they are folded under about 2-3 inches) so I passed on them.
Fit tips: Sweater runs short but tts, L // Jeans are 10″ rise tts, 31
Now THESE Edwin jeans had the same feeling as my white ones with good stretch, mid-rise and shorter inseam and I love the grey wash color. To be honest I did not purchase these but I’m kinda wishing I had! I didn’t love this sweater so I was having a hard time figuring out what I would wear with these jeans so maybe I’ll go back.
This sweater was on the thicker side, so not great for early fall in TX and although I love the color the length was a bit shorter and the arms were very balloon like so the proportions just seemed off to me. Honestly I think I would prefer this style sweater but it was not in stores yet.
Fit Tips: Dress does run a bit tight around the mocking so size up if in-between I’m in a L and feel it’s perfect // Boots also run a bit tight in the calf and small in the toe so I sized up 1/2
This dress was obviously my biggest win of the shopping trip! I LOVE the way this fits with a spilt neck, ruffle sleeve and lined tiered skirt. The fabric is really lightweight so even though it’s two layers it feels flowy and pretty. I can se this being a perfect fall family picture dress, wedding guest and even workwear. Since it has so many options it was my #1 pick.
Now the boots I kinda have a love/ hate relationship with currently. When I tried them on in-store I LOVED the color and square toe. I have nothing like these in my closet so I thought they would be a great addition. Upon further wearing they are right on the cusp of being too tight in the calf. I have to wear a thin stocking just so my leg sweat didn’t stick to the inside and basically make it where 10 strong men will have to pry them off. So moral of the story if you are on the cusp of needing a wide calf, DON’T get these!
