Fancy Casual NYE Celebrations

Happy New Year!!!

Ok ok almost… It’s Christmas Eve so since the stockings are hung, gifts wrapped and cookies (almost) made it’s time to start thinking about New Years! Let’s just say that I’m the one in our family that does the heavy lifting when it comes to the holidays so by the time NYE comes along I’m exhausted. I have no desire to head out to some overpriced party to just have to wait for an hour to get an Uber home. NOPE NOT HAPPENING!

The last couple of years we have started a tradition of doing a FAUX New Year’s celebration with our kids. This means we still have the bubbly, countdown and fireworks but we do it all around 8pm. After the celebration we all get in bed and sleep through the “real” New Years and honestly it’s been amazing!

Now since our family kind of skips out on NYE celebrations I know that there is another section of people that LOVE staying up to see the ball drop. Today I’m sharing two outfits (and drinks) that are perfect for a casual night in or little more dressy New Year’s Eve soirée.

CASUAL FANCY

Tee | Sequin Joggers | Fashion Sneakers | Similar Boho Cuff | Earrings

Fit Tips: tee size up for larger chest, L // sequin joggers tts, L // sneakers tts check size guide online

First we need to talk about this amazing “Team Cocktail” tee! I saw this at Nordstrom and immediately thought VEGAS… then remembered of would be cute for New Years too! It’s short sleeve so if you are in a cold climate then defiantly throw a jacket over but when I’m hosting at home I’m typically in short sleeve.

Now I LOVE these Gibson x Glam sequin joggers but so did everyone else and I’ve tried to see if they would restock and I’ve had little luck! So instead I found a couple sequin options but like these they are going FAST!

The final part of this comfy casual outfit are these fun fashion sneakers from AMAZON! Now I’m not huge into spending $100+ on the “it” sneakers with gold stars that look like they are already 5 years old so when I saw these for under $40 I was in. The listing does mention to size up 1/2 and I would agree to go by that size guide.

EASY PEASY LEMON VODKA SQUEEZY

Yes I made up that name but it’s because this drink is soo easy it’s perfect for a party where you want no hassle but something fun for your guests. I recommend a plastic seamless wine glass (I only had glass at the time) and some cute glitter or gold straws to complete the festive look.

Ingredients:

  • 1 part Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka
  • 3 parts Water
  • Fresh Raspberries or Cranberries
  • Fresh sprig of Rosemary
  • Ice

Measure 1 part Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka to 3 parts water (if you want a stronger drink then change to 1:2 ratio) then add ice and stir. Garnish with sprig of rosemary and red berries of your choice.

FANCY

Tee | Coated skinny jeans | Similar Glitter Heels | Champagne Glass

With my more dressy outfit I switched out the joggers for these Articles of Society coated skinny jeans and heels. Now I tried out a total of 4 styles of coated jeans after my friend Ja’Net raved about hers. Here are the ones I tried and why I landed on these:

With any New Year’s Eve celebration I think having a fun cocktail makes even a night in special. Although I’m not all about spending all my time making drinks. This one is super simple and looks really festive and pretty.

RASPBERRY PROSECCO NYE DRINK

Ingredients:

  • 1 TBSP Raspberry Sorbet
  • Gold Sanding Sugar for rim (hint this stick BEST when you first twist the rim in butter!)
  • Fresh Raspberries
  • Favorite Prosecco or Champagne

First twist rim of glass into butter then dip into gold sanding sugar. Next carefully put in 1 TBSP of Raspberry Sorbet. Then fill glass with Prosecco and top with fresh raspberries.

CHEERS FRIENDS

I hope you all have a fantastic New Year’s Eve and I will be excited to share more with you in 2020!
