A few years ago I moved into this downstairs office and styled it with the inspiration from Kendra Scott’s office in Austin (see the original set up here). As my business has expanded so has my need for a more versatile office with WAY more storage space. I spoke with my friend Jen who had several closets put into her home and she highly recommended Dallas Custom Closets.
I met with Lea and she was so great on understanding that I wanted something functional for holding all the clothes that go in and out of my space but also something that looked elegant for the front room of our home.
She did several designs taking into consideration budget, layout and function when we landed on this design with closed storage and various hanging areas. I paid my deposit and they got to work making all the custom pieces. In the interim I decided that it was a good time to replace the carpet since I wanted the unit to sit on top of the flooring.

I love the carpet we had selected for our master bedroom so I ordered the same STAINMASTER PetProtect in Fetch Creekbed Pattern. It took about two months for the closet system to come in and luckily I was able to squeeze in the carpet install right before. On the day of install it took 1 full day but then it was up, just in time for the holidays.

Here are a few of the details that I chose:
I selected a classic white finish for my entire closet unit since I wanted to brighten up this space and love how classic it looks. I selected the “Allegra” shaker style drawer front because it was again a classic, yet modern look.
In the original plans we had glass door fronts on the upper cabinets but I realized I would rather have a clean center where I could stash away items without them being on display.
As far as hardware I knew I wanted gold to keep with the theme of the light fixture and mirror I already had added to the space so the matte gold hardware finish was perfect.
Another detail I had to have were valet rods. These make hanging outfits, steaming and unpacking items so much easier. I got to select where these were placed on the install day. I placed mine at the top left right under the hanging bar. These pull straight out and hold about 6 hangers.
Now while the closet system is the BIG reveal I’ve had a few other additions since the last time I shared my home office space… my Peloton bike!
I got my bike last February and while I would love to say that I’m on it every day, I’m not. Partly after getting Cider I didn’t want to wake her in the mornings when I was previously riding.
Now that she is bigger I getting back in the saddle and wanted to finish out this area with a new wall art piece that also doubles as bike accessory storage.
The other recent change that I’ve had so many questions on is my new office chair! While I loved the look of my previous chair it was incredibly uncomfortable. My tushy needed way more cushion but I still wanted the grey & gold looks. Surprisingly I found this chair at Pottery Barn Teen!

Basically my office is my happy place. I spend the majority of my time in here and I’ve finally made it not only functional but beautiful as well.
It’s the place where I dream of huge goals and then also put in the work to make it all happen. I hope a glimpse into my space gives you some inspiration for a place of your own.
