Now that I’ve turned 40 I’ve really started investing more time in my skincare routine. About a year ago my cousin introduced me to Colleen Rothschild Beauty after she said that it had been working wonders for her skin. I started with the Discovery Collection to see if I liked any of the products and I was hooked.
For many years I have been conscious about “good” and “bad” ingredients hidden in our day to day beauty products. I loved seeing very clearly on the Colleen Rothschild website under each product what the active ingredients are and what they don’t have (like Parabens, Sulfates, etc). This really helped me pick what would work for my skin concerns. Colleen Rothschild was founded by a woman here in the DFW area and I love her thoughts on caring how products feel, smell and look to create an entire experience for the customer.
Over the past year I have been trying more and more of the products and finally gotten in a great evening routine but before you go any further just know that NOW through 5/17/20 you can get 25% off the entire Colleen Rothschild site with code FAM25.

MY NIGHTLY ROUTINE
First I wanted to take you through my night routine that I’ve been doing consistently for about 6 months. These are all products that I’m now on my 2nd tub or tube I’ve loved them so much.
Step 1- Radiant Cleansing Balm

The Cleansing Balm is probably one of the most popular Colleen Rothschild products and the first product I heard of. This thick balm I put on my face dry, then rub in circles as it starts to melt off my makeup. After about a minute I use the muslin cloth (included) to wash away any residue as the cloth slightly exfoliates.
I will note that I wear monthly contacts (aka I don’t take them out at night) so when I’ve gone a little too heavy on the balm on my eyes I’ve had some cloudiness. I resolved that by using less balm or times when I have a lot of eye makeup I’ll take out my contacts first.
Step 2- Retinol Supreme Night Oil

After hearing about the anti-aging benefits of retinol I’ve been using one form or another for the past few years but it wasn’t until I found this nightly oil I that actually ENJOYED using a retinol.
This serum is a silky oil that improves my skin while making it feel good. It is packed with Vitamin C and Retinol to refine skin tone and texture, fight age spots and improve dullness. I use two pumps to cover my face, neck and chest (got to fight those wrinkles there too now)!
Step 3- Retinol Supreme Eye Serum

For me, my eyes are the area that I feel like show my aging the most. When I don’t get enough sleep, water, etc. I get deep lines and puffiness. I don’t tend to get dark circles but this powerful serum increases moisture we all know plump, moisturized skin always looks good!
I feel like this product has made a huge difference in my fine lines and fixing that “tired” look I can get. The days I forget doing this I really see a difference.
I use just one small pump and pat under each eye. I wait just a bit before I finish with the extreme recovery cream all over.
Step 4- Extreme Recovery Cream

My final step at night is this super moisturizing cream. I tend to have dry/ combination skin and after a serum I need something to seal it in. This whipped cream is light and absorbs quickly but still gives maximum levels of continuous moisture while strengthening the hydro-lipid barrier.
This cream can be used morning or night and many times I do both but it’s always part of my night routine. I use about a middle finger scoop and that covers my face and neck, sometimes I’ll need a little extra to cover my chest.
Dual Enzyme Polish 1-2 times per week

About 1-2 times per week I will use this exfoliating masks to give my skin that extra “glow”! I first use my cleansing balm to take off my makeup then rub onto wet face and let sit for about 5-10 min. The polish will tingle just a bit which means the enzymes are working. Then I rinse and move on to steps 2-4.
A FEW OF MY OTHER FAVORITE THINGS
Since it’s 25% off everything through 5/17 during the friends and family event with code FAM25 I might as well show you a few other favorites that have saved me during this stay at home time.
Tahitian Monoi Body Wash & Body Butter

The past few months I’ve really missed days at the spa where I could just go for a few hours and relax and be pampered for a bit. Since that hasn’t happened in awhile I decided to order the Colleen Rothschild Tahitian Monoi Body Wash & Body Butter because they sounded like it would smell like I was on vacation!
I was right! The smell is amazing but the thick cream really helped my dry skin and the creamy body wash oil is so nice I can even shave with it. There is also a body scrub that is definitely going on my wish list.

I have also recently received some products to start integrating into my morning skincare routine and I’ll say after even a week I’m soo impressed! I’m going to give it a few more weeks before I share all my thoughts so stay tuned for my morning routine.

Huge CR fan too! The pomegranate mask and intensive hydrating mask are amazing. I leave the hydrating mask on overnight and use when we are on long or red eye flights. It makes a huge difference in how my skin feels.
Oh that’s awesome to know I never thought about keeping masks on overnight!
You probably get lots of unwanted advice but I’m speaking from my own experience here. I’d strongly advise you not to sleep in your contacts. I was a longtime contact wearer (since 5th grade) but never slept in my contacts. I never had any issues with wearing contacts until about my mid-40’s when my eyes starting getting red and tired all the time. I was diagnosed with dry eyes at that point and I have never been able to get my eyes back to normal since. I’ve been told that one of the major factors in dry eye is long-term contact wear. Honestly I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t have eye problems now. As your “friend” I would hate for the same thing to happen to you. It is an issue that is becoming more and more common. Blessings!
Thank you Nancy I had issues until I went to my eye doc and got contacts specifically that can be slept in, definitely not all are tested for this. Eye heath is very important!
