We are getting ready to head to the beach for our annual family vacation and it’s one of the few times in the year when I make myself kick up my feet and read a book! I love reading and have been a pretty fast reader my entire life but during a vacation I want something light, fun and engaging.
If you are looking for some books that are in that category then read on friend! First I need to mention I only read on my Kindle Oasis, this style is waterproof up to 1 hour submerged in fresh water, adjustable light and page turning buttons. It’s so light and it fits in my purse so packing it on vacation is a breeze and I don’t worry about taking it close to the water.
I almost through the new Rival, American Royals III book and couldn’t wait to load up on more fun reads for the rest of the summer! Here are the ones I have my eye on. Which ones have you read/ loved?
The Summer I turned Pretty Not going to lie the reason this got on my radar is because it looks like such a good show that is coming out on Netflix and I love reading before watching. This is the 1st book in a 3 part series about a girl and her two guy friends growing up in the summer.
Smells Like Tween Spirit & Yoga Pant Nation (The Class Mom series) If you have not read the Class Mom series you are in for some REALLY good laughs, especially if you are a mom with kids in elementary school. These books hit home and when I saw I hadn’t read Yoga Pant Nation and the soon to be released Smells Like Tween Spirit I needed both on my list!
The Summer Place Jennifer Weiner is the queen of a beach read and this one is about a wedding and family based in Cape Cod so I’m in for the drama and descriptions of an area I would love to visit!
It Happened One Summer & Hook Line and Sinker I love when I find a new fun series to read and when I first mentioned these books I immediately got messages that these are such fun reads! The storyline is about a Hollywood A lister and her meeting of a sea captain, let’s just say I think some romance might be brewing!
One Italian Summer This books selection came from my random scrolling of Instagram and seeing the beautiful coastline of Italy and wanting desperately to go there!! The book is about a women who loses her mother and visits the Amalfi Coast to learn more about her.
The Summer Getaway Not gonna lie when the synopsis described a mom overwhelmed but the demands of her family just jumps a plane for California for a vacation it kinda sounded like something I needed to live vicariously through!
The Hotel Nantucket Another queen of the beach read has her new book dropping on June 14th JUST in time for my vacation. I loved her Winter in Paradise series and can’t wait to get this new release.
The Beach House Jenny Hale is an author that has had several of her books dated for Hallmark movies so don’t be surprised by the love story set in Florida. Personally I’m all in for an easy read with a Rosemary Bay backdrop.
The Beach House (7 book series) I probably should have listed the last book in the series that came out in May 2021 but I haven’t read any of the series so I’m going to book 1! This beach series is based in South Carolina with the stories of mothers, daughters, family and loss.
Seabreeze Shores This is the most recent in a 7 book series based on a small sea town, the residents and their lives. As you can imagine love, loss, rumors and more ensue, basically a perfect beach book.
The Boardwalk Bookshop Not gonna lie the synopsis of this one kinda sounded like Sweet Magnolias in a beach town so of course it went on my must read list!
Nora Goes Off Script A divorced romance channel screenwriter whose script about her marriage’s collapse just might help her reclaim her life and find love.
The Italian Escape Oh yeah so another summer in Italy book, I’m really thinking I need a vacation…
Rivals | American Royals III Of everything on this list THIS was the first book I purchased for the summer and am already about half way through. This is one of my favorite teen guilty reads and I’m not ashamed! If you loved Princess Diaries back in t day READ THIS SERIES!
