White Jeans

It’s spring and so there are tons of fun outfits I’ve been seeing with white jeans, but if you are not a size 2 it can be intimidating finding white jeans that don’t look horrible.

Let’s start with the real talk, I am a size 10/12 I have cellulite on my rear and thighs and a bit of a flabby tummy. Yes, there are a million things that I would love to change about my body but as I’m approaching 40 I’ve gotten real with myself and said ok it’s about time to just figure out what looks good on my body as it is now.

I want to mention that I’m sure these jeans can look amazing on a 2, 4 or 16 body as well but I’m going to give you my opinion based on my body. For sizing reference I am 5’5 and typically wear a 10/12 depending on brand.

I want to start off with a few tricks to getting a good pair of jeans that are flattering on my curvy body.

1. Size up– I have found that going up a size (especially when you are in-between) can really help from white jeans looking too see-through
2. Larger back pockets– This extra layer of material can help shape and lift that booty
3. Nude front pockets– yes this is a thing! Not all of my picks have these but the jeans that do really look good when you don’t see that outline.
4. Stretch but not too stretchy– in my experience the really stretchy styles seem to feel like they are painted on and don’t look as good as the kinds that have just a little stretch

Best Jegging

This American Eagle jegging crop is the pair that I have been reaching for the most this season. I love that they are stretchy but don’t stretch out, they are comfortable all day and don’t get baggy around the legs. These are a mid-rise 8 3/4″ and come in the most amount of inseams of any of my picks which makes these a great option for super short to tall ladies. These are intended to be a crop and have a 26.5″ inseam for the regular length which is what I am in. Now I understand that these are sold out in a ton of sizes so if your size is sold out check out this pair which are SUPER similar the biggest difference is that these are less stretchy and have more cotton in them.

Best Distressed

These distressedOld Navy jeans I was so excited to find because I did not have a distressed pair of white jeans and these ended up being perfect. These have nude front pockets and good size rear pockets with some distressing on the back pocket. I like the raw hem and the options in sizing, they come in petite (28″ inseam), regular (29″ inseam) and tall (32″ inseam). I’m in the regular size 12 and they hit right at my ankle. Now I did try also the pull-on rock star style which I found a little too see through and the mid-rise sculpt ankle rockstar jean which were a little too long for me but have heard that they are favorites for some other TRM Tribe members.

Fit Tips: Jeans Size up if in-between, I’m in a 12 | Tank tts, medium | Flip Flops size up 1/2 size.

Best Higher Rise

Jeans | Similar Tee

These from LOFT are called modern slim pocket skinny jeans, since the stretchy pockets are intended to suck in your tummy. These are a higher rise at 10 1/8″ and longer length (29″ inseam) so they wouldn’t work great with some of my shoes with an ankle strap but great for flip flops. These are not see through because they have a thicker material and many of the other pairs I tried on. Unfortunately these only come in regular and petite so if you need an inseam longer than 29″ these won’t be the best.

Fit Tips: TTS, I’m in a 30 but would size up going to a petite length. tee size up if larger chested, L.

Best Crop

Tank | Similar Jeans | Wedges

If you had asked me a year ago what are the best white jeans I would have hands down told you the Wit & Wisdom Ab-solution ankle jeans. Here is the problem, this season they only made these in a high rise version. If you like a high rise (10″ rise) you are in luck since these have an internal 1 inch elastic in the waistband that prevents gaps and sucks in your tummy. I also like that these are a 25″ inseam and I normally get the petite so they are a bit shorter which is perfect with my wedges that have ankle straps. These come in regular and petite but no tall options. With Wit & Wisdom jeans they normally run about a size big but these don’t so I would suggest ordering your true size I have the older version mid-rise in a 12P.

Fit Tips: size up if in -between for the white only, I’m in a 12P
