Fall Now & Later Outfits

We are about a month away from the “official” first day of fall but the heat in Texas is not slowing down anytime soon. So while many of us are ITCHING to get those bootie and sweaters out it’s still going to be a bit before we can wear them without heatstroke.

When I was picking up my son from school one of the leaders there asked me “ok I really want to feel like fall but WHAT CAN I WEAR?!” So I decided to put together several outfits that will make you feel like the seasons are changing soon without the passing out risk.

Then how that same outfit can transition to when it actually cools down.

Tee | Shorts | Shoes (camo)| Jacket | Jeans

Fit Tips: Tee tts, M // Shorts size down if in-between // Jeans size up 12 short // Jacket tts, M // Shoes tts but size up or down if you have wide/ narrow feet.

This maroon tee is 50% off and is a great color to make you feel like fall but is light and silky enough to keep cool. This tee also comes in a great dark green and navy for inexpensive layering options (think under $10) that can work now and later. I added this utility jacket in rose because I REALLY wanted to wear my new camo shoes and felt like the green maybe was a little too much. This utility jacket is also the lowest price this weekend I have seen so far, it’s down to $30 but then taking an additional 25% off making it under $23.

Dress | Jean Jacket | Shoes (steel grey) | Tote

Fit Tips: Dress size down if in-between, M // Jacket tts, L // Shoes tts but see below if your feet are narrow or wide

This swing dress is a great fall transitional piece that can be worn now sleeveless then add a cute denim jacket for fall and done! I love this this dress come in a ton of colors and prints so stripe with olive shoes or leopard and navy converse pretty much the combos are endless. This weekend all of them are 40% off making my stripe one $18 but some colors as low as $15.

The slip on shoes made my fall must-have list because they are soo cute and with elastic laces I can throw them on in a second when I need to rush out the door. In this outfit I have on the steel grey color but IRL they have olive laces and are more of a washed olive color. A bunch of you have said they fit true to size, narrow or should size down. In my opinion they fit very similar to converse so the toe box is not very wide so if you have wider feet these might be uncomfortable, if you have narrow feet you might want to size down 1/2 size. I have regular with and my true size was perfect.

Blouse | Jeans (desert sun)| Snakeskin loafers | Cardigan | Tote

Fit Tips: blouse tts, M // Jeans tts 12 petite for ankle length // cardigan tts, M // shoes run a bit small I styled tts but go up 1/2 size if in-between

Have a workplace that you can wear colored jeans but not shorts?! This one is for you! These dusty pink jeans are stretchy and not too thick so perfect for my teachers and moms that need to move around. I paired it with this new Gibson tulip sleeve top that is not too sheer and really lightweight and flowy. The split neck is perfect to show off a short necklace you love (like this one I wear all the time from Cartier that my husband gave me when I had my son) but not too low cut.

As the fall progresses I added my Halogen cardigan that is silky and soft and not too heavy but just enough for those colder mornings. This Burgundy color has been one of my favorites for fall and although my intel instinct was to pair it with the golden colored jeans (below) I also love the pink on pink look for fall.

Dress | Similar Crossbody | Sandals | Similar Jacket | Booties

Fit Tips: Dress size down if in-between, M but is shorter so beware // sandals tts // moto jacket tts, M // booties tts

This dress was an early summer hit when it came in a striped white & blue so when I saw that Gibson brought it back in this gorgeous leopard print I had to grab it. I love that right now it’s great with some open toe heeled sandals but as fall progresses I can throw on some booties (or even tall boots) a suede jacket and I have a great date night look.

This dress has a functional snap at the chest to ensure nothing it falling out, but also makes it great for nursing mamas. It is a bit shorter than maybe I would prefer but it’s so soft and comfy I’m keeping it. My suede jacket is last year’s color (still available in limited sizes) but I think it would look great with the color this year or even a this black Moto jacket.

Hoodie | Shorts | Jeans | Wedge Sneakers

Fit Tips: Hooded shirt tts, M // shorts size down if in-between, 10 // Jeans size up 12 short // shoes tts unless wearing with socks then size up 1/2 size

Typically I would not be throwing on a hooded sweatshirt in the middle of the heat but this hoodie is a thin silky soft material. It gives me the look of a sweatshirt without all the heat and bulk.

I love it also for those school pickup days that I’m looking a mess and I can just throw on the hood and sunglasses and no one recognizes me (just kidding having too much fun!)

The wedge sneakers are super comfy and I will for sure be wearing all fall because they are just as cute with shorts or jeans.

Scallop Top | Colored Jean (Tobacco Leaf) | Leopard loafers | Tote | Moon & Star Necklace (similar)| Cardigan

Fit Tips: Top tts, M // Jeans tts 12 petite for ankle length // Cardigan tts, M // loafers tts

This scallop top has been a favorite of mine all summer but Gibson just released it with all new colors and prints for fall and I’m in love! Obviously the black is great with these gold colored jeans (hello teacher looks) but I’m stalking my tracking number for the leopard print one that I just ordered this week! As the weather cools down it will look great as a layer under a long cardigan.

This moon and star necklace from Madewell was one of those early Nordstrom Sale sell-outs and unfortunately it has sold out once again. I have linked a similar Madewell necklace that has the same deep gold tones and 3 necklaces to switch up and layer through the fall.
