Festive Casual

As we are getting knee deep in the holiday season I have realized that the most needed outfits for all out events is a cross between dressy, casual and festive. So today I wanted to show you an easy look pulling together some basics from my closet but then adding a few festive pieces to jazz it up for your next holiday get together.

The basics I pulled out of my closet are these favorite black Wit & Wisdom ankle jeans. These have an interior stretchy band that make them so comfy for long dinners or events where picking up kids all night is on the agenda. This black color went on sale and has sold out so I’ve linked the new indigo dark blue color. These run big in the regular lengths so size down if in-between I’m in a 10P. Although I’ve been eyeing these coated skinny jeans which would look great with this as well! If you are looking for an inexpensive black jean option I liked these Target ones that come in lengths so the 10 short was perfect.

The next staple I pulled out are these gorgeous Sam Edelman leopard pumps. I grabbed these a few months back and wear them all the time! They have the perfect heel height for me (3.75″) where they are a high heel but not uncomfortable for standing. These have a genuine calf hair so the texture really adds to the look of these. They run true to size and are still fully stocked.

The festive additions to this outfit start with this sparkly clutch which my new friend Ella wanted as a chew toy! I told her no way girlfriend I’ll give you a kiss instead 🙂 but this envelope clutch has a ton of colors so it goes with lots of outfits. When I grabbed this last I was surprised that it fit cards, 2 lip glosses, pressed powder, cell phone and small brush and with all that it was still compact enough to slip under my arm while greeting people. If you don’t want one this glittery there are a ton of fabrics this comes in.

This puff sleeve velvet top was the next festive item that I added. I originally thought I would wear this with a skirt but I just never had an event that was dressy enough so pairing it with jeans just was the best bet for me. This runs true to size and has a good mid waist length, I’m in a medium. The other thing I love about this top is it’s stretch! I never felt restricted or uncomfortable. So as I went to post and this my top has since sold out completely AAAHHH so I’m linking several options below that will give you a similar look!

The final piece I picked up was this sparkly necklace that I’ve ended up wearing with a few holiday outfits. It’s from LOFT and it has gone on sale a few times making it consistently under $30!
