I know you are like, um hello Spring is not here it’s freaking cold! If I know anything about living in Texas for 20 years is that our weather will change in a heartbeat and looking at the weather it’s supposed to be 80 tomorrow! So this year I’m getting ahead of the game, instead of scrambling when it gets warm and seeing that all the sizes are sold out of things I am buying them now and doing some layering. Right now if you have Old Navy cash you can redeem and get some great deals or no Old Navy cash, no worry use code HURRY for 30% off your order today. In my try-on I did not have all Old Navy items so at the bottom of the picture I linked what I’m actually wearing but then in the small pictures I added similar items all from Old Navy!
Distressed Denim Jacket | Tank | Camo Pants | Shoes
Last fall I grabbed some AMAZING camo ankle pants that I wear all the time so when I saw these Old Navy ones I thought well heck those look really similar and for less. In the store I tried on my true size and they fit but were a little tight so I would say if you are in-between size up. These hit on my lower ankle but still short enough for slides or flip flops. These have a mid-rise, utility pockets and some stretch for a really great spring pant. I love a camo green with light pink and this luxe (think modal soft) tank is perfect. This one is long though so I have it tucked pretty far in the front but like the cover pic I think it would be super cute tied up and you have enough fabric to do it! The shoes you will see in most the pics are my Steve Madden Slip-ons which I love and I got them in my true size and they fit perfect.
Fit Tips: Jacket runs small, I’m in a M but needed a L. Tank tts, I’m in a M. Camo pants size up if in-between I ordered the 12 and they are a bit more comfortable but a tad longer.

Distressed Denim Jacket | Swing Dress
I have gotten swing dresses from Old Navy during other seasons and they always have a great flowy feel, not too short and good tank style where you can show off your shoulders but a real bra strap still works (aka perfect dress!) When I saw this navy polka dot I had to have it. I have this on with the distressed jean jacket and I would normally add some converse or flip flops for running errands or even to the pool!
Fit Tips: Dress runs tts and I’m in a medium. Jacket runs small because it has very little stretch so I’m in a medium but to be able to move I would need a large.
Field Jacket | Camo Tee | Jeans | Converse
Now this look was inspired by Skye McLain, when I found this pink field jacket my first impulse is always to throw a white tee under but since I had a family member inform me that not everyone feels comfortable in a white tee shirt I thought well dang I’m gonna need to get creative. Skye showed her pink with the camo and I thought wait, I have that! I love green and pink together in the spring and I thought what a fun casual mom kind of combo! Luckily Old Navy got in the game and they have a similar camo tee with a crewneck, I have not tried it on so I’m not sure on sizing but I tend to go in their tees. The jacket comes in a variety of colors (you will also see the green later) and at a great price so get a few! These jeggings are American Eagle but the Rockstar pull-on distressed jeans would look super cute as well and I linked those.
Fit Tips: Jacket fits tts I’m in a medium. Tee not sure but I normally size up on their tees, Rockstar jeggings fit tts and I wear a 10. American Eagle jeggings shown I size up and wear a 12 short.
Stripe Shirt | Jeans | Shoes
This fitted stripe tee I fell in love with the second I saw pink and red but alas it does run small and they did not have a large in store. I thought it would be great like this with jeans but also with some colored or white ankle pants and a denim jacket. Either way it’s a great thick stripe in the most fun colors.
Fit Tips: Size up in this, it is very fitted I’m in a medium but needed a large.
Dress
So many times as a corporate recruiter I would be asked how can I look professional, be comfortable and do it all on a budget. Here’s the answer look for dresses like this where you can add a black blazer and some heels and you look polished and professional, switch it out for a jean jacket and flip flops and you are headed to dinner on the weekend! I love the black on blue stripe because you can add some fun color accessories and really make this feel like spring and summer or just go with neutrals and it feels very corporate. This dress is not lined but it is a thicker stretch Ponte material so make sure you are wearing this in a business CASUAL work environment!
Fit Tips: I did not want this dress to be skin tight so I sized up to a large for a more work appropriate fit. Now if you are buying this for Vegas go true to size and live it up!
Field Jacket | Tank | Jeans | Shoes
I mentioned above my love for these field jackets so I’m not going to tell you again, but seriously.. love. The yellow polkadot tank is my final pice I think is a great item to pick up now and layer under a jacket and come spring and summer wear it on it’s own. It has a wonderful flow away from the body rayon fabric that will stay cool even in our 100+ temps. Here I have it front tucked but is does have a good length to wear tucked or untucked. It has a keyhole cut out in the back and comes in two other cute prints. Since this is only $24.99 without any discounts you can easily grab a few!
Fit Tips: Top fits true to size and I’m in a medium
