Well holy heck it got crazy here in Texas! Over the weekend I kept looking at Monday’s forecast thinking it can’t really be going from 79 degrees to 43 degrees with 90% chance of rain?! Well apparently they know what they are talking about over on that weather channel because it’s GROSS outside! When it’s that rainy the only thing I’m going for are my Tall Rain Boots from Hunter. I have these in the matte black and high gloss red and get a ton of use out of them because they just seem to go with everything!
Today I have them paired with my new J.Crew dark wine colored puffer vest. Now a few weeks ago I compared the J.Crew puffer vests to the Old Navy (see full blog post here) and then the pricing of the J.Crew were still fairly high but now it has dropped to $44.50 plus through today you can get an additional 30% off using code AUTUMN making this option much more affordable. I did still pick up plum in the Old Navy lightweight quilted vest just to see how the colors compare and no shock I love the WINE 😘.

If you have been around a bit you are fully aware of my LOVE for my new American Eagle supersoft jegging that have ripped detailing but great for days like this because no actual skin shows so no cold knees! These jeans have been my go-tos the last few weeks because they are just that comfortable. I did have to size up but I loved that they have a short length (and even x-short, tall, regular everyone is covered!) so I could wear them with flats and booties without any hemming. They are 25% off right now so making them under $50.
My final layering piece to this outfit is these great Target long sleeve tees. Although I have a love for Caslon and Madewell when it starts to get colder nothing can beat the stretch and little bit thicker material of these. The stripe version comes in navy/white and white/black and fit true to size. They are running a special of 2 for $18 so just get both colors it’s totally worth it!
Although I’m somewhat whining about my cold and rainy morning I will take this weather versus the massive amount of snow I saw my friends in the Denver area get this weekend! I have no idea how they skipped fall! For those of you in a bit warmer climate I hope you love this lightweight layered look for those cooler days we are finally getting!
