I have a three year old that LOVES our sand box at home. Do you know what he does not like, actually taking anything out of the sand box once he is done playing with it. Uggghhhh! This results in sun drenched brittle toys, half buried dinosaurs and little toy men. So until about six months ago we would buy cheap buckets and shovels knowing that they would break in about a month and we would buy some more. This is until we found the HABA USA brand of sand toys named Spielstabil.
We have loved HABA toys for the kids for years because we would buy their high quality wood toys for babies. It wasn’t until I was on the search to replace some sand toys for little man’s birthday did I stumble upon these. When I saw them on Amazon I read that they are indestructible, colorfast sand & water toys that come with a 10 Year guarantee.. WHAT?! Also that Spielstabil Products are manufactured in Germany and are PVC free, Phthlate free and BPA Free. Needless to say they went on the birthday list very quickly!

We have the large & small sand scoop, large & small sand pail, castle set and watering can. I would say the ideal age for the small scoop, pail and watering can is 18 months to about 3 years. The large pail and scoop are easy for 2.5 years and older side they hold a bit more. All the Spielstabil toys are a semi hard plastic meaning that they have a bit of give to them the digging in the sand but definitely not a soft, pliable plastic. We have had our pails and scoops out in our sandbox for the entire summer and I have seen minimal fading.
- Large Sand Scoop $8.99
- Small Sand Scoop $7.99
- Large Sand Pail $17.29
- Small Sand Pail $10.99
- Castle Set $16.74
I am so happy that we found these for daily play in our sandbox at home but they also have been wonderful on the Texas Coast during our final days of summer!
