We are 1.5 weeks away from summer break and I’m not READY!! While I am still scrambling to book all the camps, childcare and vacations I started thinking honestly how fun summer break can be as well. It’s that time of the year when the hustle of sports and activities slow down and so does our pace of life.
As a major A-type go, go, go mama this can be really tough for me but it’s also REALLY good for me. I was talking with a friend about clothing and reminder her that most of my days especially in the summer are pretty relaxed and casual. Really the times I get “dressed” are when we vacation or that occasional girls night (or even a date night)!
I thought then it might be a great idea to share my every day go-to items for summer. I love that I can grab a variety of brands and styles from Nordstrom.com. Also with their free shipping & returns it is so easy to grab a few options then return if something doesn’t fit or work out. They even now have a section on the website for summer casual wear and I’m loving it!

My first must have for summer is a great pair of denim shorts! If you have been around awhile you know my love for the KUT Gidget style. These are a 10.5″ rise and 4″ inseam making them that great not too short, not too high just right feeling. They also don’t get baggy in the rear but do loosen as you wear making them great for that throw on and go summer style.
I also love a good boxy tee that I can keep untucked and wear with shorts, jeans and joggers. The free people style has a cuffed sleeve and comes in a couple neutral colors great for mixing and matching.

Now for those occasional date nights or girls nights out I love having an outfit that fits both dressy and casual. These Michael Stars one shoulder tanks are more of an investment BUT they are thicker, great length, wash well and just looks stunning.

I feel like having one of these and a few of the v-neck tanks are so versatile and take me through the warm weather months! Plus if you want something even spicer this style comes in a fun RED!
Here are the Michael Stars styles I love:
I’ve also talked a TON about these straight leg jeans I love if you want to see them styled in MORE outfits check out this post. For date nights I also love having a small crossbody that I can hold my essentials this one is a great size and was my go-to for our family cruise vacation.

Heels size up 1/2 in cafe color
After tees, shorts and some great white jeans I roll straight into athleisure! I’m a huge fan of the Vuori joggers and have more pairs than I would like to admit to, but I wear them almost daily and they really feel incredible.
Recently though I picked up this NEW Vuori Jumpsuit with a tank top. Last year I had the racerback which was comfy but harder to get in an out of. This one is that same soft, moisture wicking material as the joggers but with a looser cuff and regular bra friendly.

Now if you are not a jumpsuit person just go with the joggers! They are super soft, stretchy and easily be paired with a tee or tank and a denim jacket for a quick running errands outfit.
If I am wearing these for a light work out instead I’ll pair it with the Spanx Go Lightly Tank or Zella Tee, both have a great fit, light weight fabric and not too long for joggers.

Now the rest of my essentials are because I’m hoping to spend most of my free time this summer in our new pool! Give me some cute sunglasses, swimsuit and flip flops and I’m set!

Lace Down One-Piece | Flip Flops | Sunglasses
This swimsuit has quickly become one of my favorites when I want to look and feel good. The lace up is just enough va va voom while it still has a full coverage rear.

The other essentials include cute sandals, great sunglasses and don’t forget that SUNSCREEN!

Sunglasses | Swimsuit | Shorts | Sunscreen

Ever After | Noosa | High Key Mini
Now I can’t help with the camps, schedule or ALL the end of year activities but I hope this helps build up those everyday staples so at least you look and feel good while wrangling those kiddos this summer!
