The Best of Summer 2020: Swim Coverups

Wow friends I don’t know about you but 2020 has been a bit of a heavy one so far! I know that many of you come to my blog and social media for fashion, humor and just an escape. Last week though I needed some time process the current events of the nation and just take a breath. In July I will be celebrating 2 years of this blogging journey and I’ve realized I need to be better about taking more breaks. I needed to laugh, bike and cook with my kids. I needed to start to enjoy summer.

Having that time allowed me to think up some new content and so I’m going to be bringing you a series of “Bests” for the season. I sort of started already with my one-piece swimsuit post and then followed it up with Best of Summer 2020: Shorts. Today I’m continuing with swimsuit coverups!

Fit Tips: I’m in a L but would have preferred to size down to M

This fun coverup from Cabana Life combines the flow and ease of a coverup with the length and details of a dress. It is made from their popular SPF50 swimsuit material and it stretchy and breathable. I love how loose and flowy this coverup is without losing some shape with the adjustable tie waist. Let’s also mention the amazing pockets!! Use code RECRUITERMOM20 for 20% off your purchase

Another favorite classic from Cabana Life is their Terry tunic line. A few reasons I love these is because they have matching mommy and me options (my 8 year old still loves to match) and they come in several colors and styles. I’m in the long sleeve but they also have a sleeveless option. These are a thicker Terry material so help dry me off while looking cute and blocking 98% of UVA and UVB rays. Now this coverup is listed as a dress on Cabana Life’s website but as a cover up on Talbots so I’m calling it the best of both worlds. It is the same Cabana Life swimsuit material (with SPF 50) but has a great tunic “a” line style that fits me so well. It’s super stretchy and BREATHES so even when I’m sweating buckets this keeps me cool. These are perfect for those summer trips that you might need to throw something over your swimsuit that looks like real clothes. Use code RECRUITERMOM20 for 20% off your purchase

Fit Tips: one size, coral pink

If you want to know my most worn coverup it’s this one! I got this style last year and instantly fell in love. It’s very light weight which is great for Texas and the fabric is one that sand doesn’t really stick to it and when we go to the beach that is crucial! The only complaint I have heard is depending on your height it ‘s fairly short in the back and may not fully cover the bum. Id does on me and I’m 5’5.

I have a thing for swimwear items that are cute, sexy and comfortable and this crochet coverup ticks all the boxes. I was afraid that this would be a cheap scratchy material but it’s actually very soft. I love the bright color and how it hangs. This has definitely shot to the top of my favorites list and for sure going back for more colors.

Fit Tips: tts, L

This style cover ups are great for those kinda funky swimsuits! The one shoulder, high neck etc. I love this Amazon style because the sleeves are nice and loose but a bit longer than other styles and it is longer in the back fully covering my bum. I love the leopard print but there are tons of print options to match your swimsuits.
