Since I published the Fall Workwear Capsule I got a TON of requests to do one each season and I told you “um we will see!” It’s important that I can find items that I think are versatile within the capsule and then also within your overall wardrobe. I love Target but there are times in which I don’t find a ton of things that I love or fit really well. On the other hand I LOVE LOFT but not everyone has the budget for some of their items so I decided to do a mix-up!
This season I paired down the capsule to just 8 pieces that you can find at LOFT and TARGET that will work for business professional, business casual and those work environments where you can do business jean days.

LOFT Slim Pocket Skinny Jeans // Plaid Mid-Rise Slim Ankle Pants // Doubleweave Pencil Skirt (plus) // Target Plaid Ruana // LOFT Elbow Patch Modern Blazer // Target Long Sleeve Turtleneck Ribbed Sweatshirt // LOFT Cowl Neck Tunic Sweater // Crewneck Pullover Sweater with Pearl Buttons

DETAILS TO NOTE
In the capsule I’m wearing a different pair of jeans than the LOFT ones in the flat lay picture. WHY?! well because the one day we had with good lighting and I could take pics my LOFT jeans had just come out of the washing machine and they were sopping wet. Sorry! I wore instead these Madewell jeans which are definitely more of an investment but have a similar higher rise and dark wash as the LOFT pair.
The LOFT skirt is a workwear staple and then they sold out of it (insert eye roll!) although I felt that any great black pant or skirt could work in replacement. Here are the styles I would choose for a replacement:
The tan blazer that is a staple in this capsule is now low quantity in sizing, again annoyed. Although LOFT has amazing blazers and any one of them will fit into this capsule but if you want one that will be close to this color here are my choices for a replacement:
SIZING
Let’s also talk sizing, I’m 5’5 and typically wear a size M/10 top, I’m a 36DD so I do have to worry about items being tighter across the chest or too low cut. Currently I in LOFT and Target I am closer to a 12 than a 10 so true to size would be a 12.
Here is how each item fit:
- LOFT Slim Pocket Skinny Jeans true to size, 12P
- Plaid Mid-Rise Slim Ankle Pants true to size, 12
- Doubleweave Pencil Skirt (plus) true to size, 12
- Target Plaid Ruana O/S
- LOFT Elbow Patch Modern Blazer true to size, 10
- Target Long Sleeve Turtleneck Ribbed Sweatshirt size up if in-between and does run long, L
- LOFT Cowl Neck Tunic Sweater tts, M
- Crewneck Pullover Sweater with Pearl Buttons tts, M
Additional Items in photos:
- LOFT Skinny Ankle Pants tts, 12P for shorter length
- LOFT Trouser Pant tts, 12P for length
- LOFT Ruffle Henley Shell, tts M
- Sam Edelman Sally Pointed Toe Flat, tts
- Sam Edelman Hazel pump in Sand Leopard, tts
- Vince Camuto Nestel Knee High Boot, tts NOW 40% off
- Steve Madden Addy Bootie (sold out) these are almost identical in same color and shape, tts
- Madewell jeans, size down if in-between 30 and were hemmed in store
- Madewell Starbar Necklace
- Veronica Hoop Earrings
BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL
Since I had a few of you ask for business professional and this is what I typically had to wear in my corporate job I figured I would give you a few looks with a skirt and pumps. Then since I realized this exact skirt is sold out I wanted to show you that these outfits can easily be worn with some skinny ankle pants as well.

I have tried on SEVERAL pairs of LOFT pants and if you want to wear with boots I highly recommend these skinny ankle pants or the trouser pant both I have tried on recently and prefer the length of petite so I move up to a 12.
With work pants I prefer two types of boots, either a stacked heel bootie with a slim shaft or a pointed toe heeled bootie. If you are not a heel kind of gal then the Chelsea style boot will be best for you. Right now there are some good options from Target and LOFT. Target has BOGO 50% off on boots and LOFT 40% off everything with code FESTIVEVIP.

Left: Blazer // Turtleneck // Ankle Pants // Similar Booties // Similar Tote Right: Cowl Neck // Ankle Pants // Loafers
I also wanted to mention again that so many of these looks can be mixed up with other items in your closet from previous capsules. This LOFT ruffle henley is close in color to the v-neck blouse from Target but in stock right now.
I also wanted to show how this skirt although more on the business professional side with pumps can definitely be dressed down a bit to business casual with some tall heeled boots and the poncho.

Shoe options:
BUSINESS CASUAL
I hunted to find a good pair of work pants that are affordable, can be worn with flats, heels and booties AND would coordinate with several of the tops and these Target mid rise pants were the winner! They have a small plaid with cognac, black and brown so it can be easily mixed with all the neutrals and a good ankle length (even without needing a petite so if you are taller these will be shorter).

Each outfit is warm and cozy but still looks professional and put together. The middle picture I am wearing a pair of Sam Edelman pointed toe flats (tts) but those could easily be switched out for some nude or printed loafers as well.

I also wanted to mention that the long sleeve ribbed “sweatshirt” which feels WAY more like a shirt also comes in a few other colors and the brown works so well with all these pieces. Now through Monday November 12th it’s 30% off making them under $9 so get ALL THE COLORS!

BUSINESS IN JEANS
When I asked about teacher dress code and what business casual really means so many of you mentioned you can wear jeans occasionally but they need to be non-distressed and nice looking. In my opinion a great pair of dark wash jeans is exactly that! As mentioned above these pictures I’m wearing a pair of Madewell jeans but I have worn the LOFT dark wash jeans in my previous capsule if you need a visual. They are a higher mid-rise (aka 10″) but I get a petite for the length so the rise is a bit shorter (probably closer to 9.5″).
The LOFT jeans I also love because they are available in two styles- curvy and modern as well as in plus size. The curvy is best if your hips are larger and the modern if you have slimmer hips but larger thighs (this is me!). I love that I can typically get LOFT items 40% off making these jeans under $45 right now with code FESTIVEVIP.

I hope you love this winter refresh of work items. Again as we get deeper into winter and more items become available I’m considering doing a weekend casual capsule as I did for fall so if that is something you would like to see please comment below! Also all of these outfits and MORE you can see on my Facebook page, this is where I share the most up to date sales and outfits.
